Early Notes on the Aquarius Twins Collection
Aquarius Twins began as an exploration of duality, not in contrast, but in conversation.
Rather than creating isolated pieces, I started working in pairs. Shared palettes. Parallel movement. Two canvases developing side by side, influencing each other without becoming identical. The goal wasn’t symmetry, but relationship.
Ingress and Egress are the first named works from this evolving body of work.
The titles reflect motion rather than outcome. Entry and exit. Arrival and release. One piece forming, the other resolving. Together, they establish the foundation for what will become the Aquarius Twins collection.
This series is being developed as two separate drops of six pieces each, allowing the concept to unfold gradually. Each drop will stand on its own while remaining part of a larger conversation about balance, rhythm, and shared direction.
A shift in surface and detail
While much of my work begins with movement, paint poured, tilted, and guided by gravity, Aquarius Twins introduces a quieter layer of complexity.
I’ve begun incorporating cells created through the use of alcohol, allowing intricate patterns to emerge organically within the flow. These details aren’t meant to dominate the composition. Instead, they reveal themselves slowly.
Up close, the surface changes. Subtle breaks in color. Fine textures. Small moments of disruption embedded within broader motion.
The work asks for patience, not everything is visible at first glance.
Looking forward
Ingress and Egress mark the starting point, not the conclusion.
As Aquarius Twins continues, the focus will remain on paired creation, shared language, and evolving technique. Each piece will respond not only to its own process, but to its counterpart.
This collection is about relationship, between canvases, between motion and intervention, and between what’s immediately seen and what reveals itself over time.
More to come.
