Interruptions

Interruptions marks a shift from surrendering to motion toward actively resisting it.

Built through layered pours, controlled rotation, and deliberate brushwork, this collection introduces interruption as a compositional force. Fluid movement establishes the field, then is disrupted — redirected, fractured, or restrained — by intentional marks and contrasting materials. Metallics add weight and structure, while fluorescent pigments act as signals, heightening tension and energy across the surface.

Rather than allowing flow to resolve on its own, these works assert authorship. Brushstrokes cut through orbiting forms, breaking symmetry and challenging the expectation of harmony. What remains is a balance between momentum and resistance, where motion is not erased but altered.

Each piece captures a moment of impact — where movement is interrupted, decisions are visible, and the painting records both force and response.
