Interruptions: Shaping The Flow

Interruptions: Shaping The Flow

After Orbital Fields, the rhythm of painting returned.

With consistency came curiosity, and the urge to disrupt what had become familiar. Interruptions represents the next step in my evolution as an artist: moving from pure flow into deliberate intervention.

Most of my work begins with motion, paint poured, tilted, and guided by gravity. But with this collection, I started stepping in. Introducing brushwork, edges, and intentional marks that interrupt the natural movement of the pour. These interventions weren’t about control, but conversation, responding to what the paint was already doing, and shifting its direction mid-process.

This body of work also expands my use of materials. Metallic layers remain present, but they’re now paired with fluorescent pigments, creating contrast between depth and intensity. The fluorescents bring energy to the surface, while metallics ground the composition underneath. Together, they create tension, moments where light, color, and texture compete for attention.

Interruptions is about evolution through disruption. Allowing the process to unfold, then intentionally altering its path. It reflects a period of growth, not just returning to painting, but actively questioning how the work could change.

Releasing this collection on my birthday felt less like a celebration and more like a marker. A moment to acknowledge creative growth, experimentation, and the willingness to step outside of what had started to feel comfortable.

This collection sets the stage for what comes next. Shortly after Interruptions, I’ll be releasing Aquarius Twins: a body of work exploring duality, shared palettes, and parallel movement across paired pieces.

For now, Interruptions stands as a turning point: where flow meets intention, and instinct meets choice.
